Our PotatoEurope 2022 Newsletter brings you the latest news and keeps you up to date regarding the upcoming edition of PotatoEurope, taking place on 7-8 September in Germany, at Rittergut Bockerode (near Hanover).

Watch our interview with Paul Westermann from PotatoEurope technical partner Case IH

PotatoEurope shows technology in motion, which requires tractors. With Case IH, we have been able to win a competent partner. Paul Westermann from Case IH gives an insight into the machinery that will be on display at the trade fair. Among them is the telescopic loader Farmlift, as well as another 25 - 30 tractors from Case.

New Potato Feature: Challenges of the Potato Harvest

In the case of the potato, the crop grows completely underground and the tubers are also very sensitive to mechanical stress due to their high water content. This forces harvesting to make compromises specific to the crop in order to reconcile quality and area performance while taking into account the farm's objectives.

Update from Rittergut Bockerode

'About 50 different potato varieties were planted at the demo fields of PotatoEurope 2022', says Helmut Zöllner of Field Research Support.

'Most of the leaves have already died, but even with the last leaves the potatoes are still growing', Georg Henkels tells us.
